[1.7.4] Retro Pompeii [8x8]

So as many of you know, I've created my Dreams of Drean texture pack which I recently completed and am now purely maintaining. Anyway, I got bored once it was done (a day after) and since I've been studying Pompeii and Herculaneum recently, I thought I might put together a little pet project based on the colours of Pompeii.

So the following is my colour palette:



I originally created a set of 10 colours based on various frescos, mosaics, pictures and descriptions I found in my text books. I then took the 10 colours and set out a range of shades for the original colours. I'm hoping that this will test my texturing skills as I have set a rule that I can only use the colours I have layed out for myself. I can not add another shade or color.

This means the texture pack may not look all that great but hey, I'm having fun. Plus, I've never done an 8x8 texture pack. Basically, I'm trying to make things as restrictive as possible and hope it will squeeze out some good ideas.

Just wondering what you guys think of it. Also, the download will be up a little while. Just need to tweak a few things.

lol Yeah, a lot! Pretty much that's my style and I struggle to change. Like the wood...I simply struggle to change that. It took me a long time to perfect the planks in Dreams of Drean. Oh btw, did you see the new beacon texture in my latest Dreams of Drean update?
