I don't mind Apple myself. I have a Iphone, but, I would not get a Mac. I prefer PCs.

I have to have a mac for school reasons, so i'm stuck with this piece of shit. Also, i might add that i'm part of the way through a long term ish Python course at my school. So i might be able to help with some stuff in a while.
I do like the sound of a card game, It sounds like something well within our limits.

Well really, a card game will be something more of us can help on. Dr A knows Java and Iate is learning Python. Out of the two, something can be brought together. Not to mention we don't have to bother about animation. However, do we still want pixel style?

Well that's three (counting me). That makes it a majority.

I guess the next step is to determine basic game rules. You've thought about this a bit more Rabid. Can you give us a more thorough run down? Also, if anyone wants to add, please do so. I for one have little to no experience with such card games (aside from Scrolls). I know Dr A plays Pokemon though.

BASIC GAMEPLAY

The overall mechanics should play somewhat of a pokemon/yugioh card style in the sense of HP, Attack (physical and special), and defense.

HP- Overall health and how much attack power a card can take in.

Attack- How much HP a card can take out of an opposing card

Defense- Rather important. How much a card can deflect from a given attack.

These three elements will be the main parts of what the game actually plays like and should be somewhat obvious to play. But the fun part is, once you get good at mastering the elements, you begin to work on strategies with your selected deck. Which brings me to part two of this discussion.

CARDS/DECKS

The second most important part of a card game besides the rules, THE CARDS. The cards in whatever we decide to call this game are based on the different KTPT factions. Each deck will specialize in different powers, as well as weaknesses. Here is some ideas

Psychotic Wanderer Deck- Focuses on the power of poison and specializes in physical attacks. Higher defense towards physical
attacks, but weak to special attacks. Not a fan of earth powered cards.

Woodland Magic Deck- This deck focuses on the power of earth and special attacks. Their defense is equally distributed but they are weak to ice based cards.

Winter Uprising Deck- This deck focuses on ice based powers and special attacks. Their defense is focused towards special attacks, making them weak to physical attacks. They are weak to fire powered cards.

Each of those decks are based on a board member here at KTPT. Guess if you would like.

During the start of your card game adventure you have the choice to chose one of the six decks to use and upgrade. Upgrading and Levels is the next thing I need to talk about.

UPGRADING AND LEVELING UP

This is where strategy comes in. You already know how to play. You chose your deck. Now you upgrade and level yourself up.

Account Leveling up- This allows you access new things in this game. You unlock a new pack of cards for your deck and new in game abilities, such as card improving.

Improving- You can upgrade those "crappy" basic cards that you start with to make them a little less "crappy". Not much improvement that you can see from upgrading one of the many cards by itself. But when you upgrade all the duplicates. MAN! CAN YOU SEE THE IMPROVEMENT!

Fusion- This allows you to combine the extra cards you have and make them a better of the same card. This is much like improving , but doesnt cost as much in game currency.

Wait... Did I say In game currency?

IN GAME CURRENCY

Simply the money you are rewarded for winning matches and completing certain achievements. You can also buy card packs for varying prices at the "Mart"

If anyone needs help figuring what "in game currency" is, I don't know why you are even here.

Well. That's all I can think to describe to you now. If anyone wants more definitions of what the game should be about. Ask me please.

Kind of forgot about this thread for a little bit...

But yeah, I think the game-play rules you laid out should be good! We just need to keep thinking about it and adding a little bit over time. I'm looking at possibly Unity of ActionScript for a card game. However, Java and Python would also work equally well. We'll just have to wait and see what direction the project goes.

How about we make a side scroller platformer? Card games arnt usually the best. I think it could be a very nice single player game. I have a pretty good idea

It is called "Pisces and Mango: Space Conquest". I have some pictures and ideas that I can show you soon. I just don't think a card game centered around "us" is a good idea now that I have had time to think about it.

Pisces is a giant baby blue figure wearing a space suit and Mango is his sidekick orange blob that crawls into certain area to flip switches and such. You switch between characters with the touch of a button. Mango follows Pisces but Pisces does not follow mango. The whole idea of the ge is to gain access to each sectors station. Each station is powered by a variety of levers that are turned on in different leves. 12 sectors. 60 levels. 5 in each sector. More explanation later.

Each sector from the first 11 have bosses based on the remaining zodiac guardians (Pisces is one himself) and the final boss is spAce itself. Each sector is a different place in space.
